Medal was instituted in 2024.
Medal is awarded to citizens of Turkmenistan who have made a significant contribution to the development of national culture, achieved success in the fields of science, education, literature and art. The medal may also be awarded to foreign citizens and stateless persons who have special merits in the development of cultural and other friendly relations with Turkmenistan.
Magtymguly Pyragy - was an Iranian-Turkmen spiritual leader, philosophical poet.
