Distinction was instituted by Decree-Law No.30 of 10 December 1979.
Distinction is awarded to Cuban people in recognition of their accomplishments over twenty-five years or more in the health sector, and for maintaining an exemplary and consistent attitude towards revolutionary principles.
Manuel "Piti" Fajardo - was a Cuban revolutionary.
