• Distinction was instituted by Decree-Law No.30 of 10 December 1979.
• Distinction is awarded to Cuban people in recognition of their accomplishments over twenty-five years or more in the tobacco sector, and for maintaining an exemplary and consistent attitude towards revolutionary principles.
• There are two types of distinction.
• Carlos Baliño - was a Cuban writer.
