Police Meritorious Service Medal

Medal was instituted on 15 May 2019.
Medal is awarded to any member of the Tonga Police for service that, in the opinion of the Commissioner of Police, is outstanding and worthy of recognition because the service – demonstrates innovation; is exemplary or a model for Tonga Police members; brings significant benefit or prestige to Tonga or the Tonga Police; demonstrates the application of skills or performance far beyond that expected, given the member’s rank, qualifications or experience; and whose character and conduct is, in the opinion of the Commissioner of Police, of such good standard as to warrant the award of the Medal.
Medal shall be silver and circular in shape, bearing on the obverse the Effigy of His Late Majesty King George Tupou I, and on the reverse a representation of the badge of the Tonga Police, surrounded by the inscription “For Meritorious Service”.
