Decoration instituted by Decree No. 7.454 of 10 April 1945.
Decoration awarded to Brazilian Air Force aircraft crews who have successfully completed their war missions assigned.
For every 20 missions completed, the recipient is entitled to place one star on the ribbon; each group of 5 stars is replaced by a bronze palm clasp.
Decoration awarded in two classes: ribbon A (for mission during the Italian Theater of Operations) and ribbon B (for mission during the South Atlantic Theater of Operations).
