Order of the Red Cross

Order was instituted on 11 January 1927.
Order was awarded for services to the Latvian Red Cross society.
Initially, the order had one degree (type of badge with the date 11/18/1918 on the reverse). Later, the order had four degrees (the type of badge with the date 20.11.1918 on the reverse): the cross of honor of the Order of the Red Cross (worn on a neck ribbon); medal of honor (worn on a ribbon on the chest); a medal of merit (worn on a ribbon on the chest) and a badge of honor (worn on a lapel or buttonhole).
