• Order is awarded for the development of agriculture and rural life in the country.
• Order is awarded in five grades: Collar, Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, and Officer.
• Order is named after the outstanding Guatemalan botanist Ulises Rojas Bendfeldt, one of the most famous national scientists of the twentieth century.
