• Medal is instituted on 16 September 1932.
• Medal is awarded by the Presi­dent to any person who had distinguished himself, or who shall here­after distinguish himself, by extraordinary heroism or distinguished service to the Government of Nicaiagua, such heroism or distinguished service not being sufficient to justify the presentation of a Presidential Medal of Merit.
