Distinction was instituted by Decree-Law No.30 of 10 December 1979.
Distinction is awarded to Cuban people in recognition of their accomplishments over twenty-five years or more in the field of agriculture, and for maintaining an exemplary and consistent attitude towards revolutionary principles.
Marcos Martí Rodríguez - was a Cuban revolutionary.
