Order of Merit for Labour

Order instituted by Decree 28527 of 22 August 1950.
Order awarded to domestic and foreign employers, employees and civil servants for labor productivity, union organization, job creation, job safety, professional training and social security.
Order initially consisted of the Grand Merit (Grande Mérito), Special Merit (Mérito Especial) and Merit (Mérito) grades. From Decree 62682 of 10 March 1968, Order awarded in five grades: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight. The insignia was issued by Decree 62820 of 4 June 1968.
