Order instituted in 1946 by the Hungarian National Assembly, approved by Presidential Decree n. 5 on 12 July 1947.
Order awarded for creation and strengthening of independent and democratic Hungary , for outstanding military and civil services in the struggle for democracy and freedom.
Order has four types.
