Police Medal for Combating Terrorism

Medal instituted in 1974.
Medal awarded to all ranks of the South African Police for service in preventing and combating terrorism after 26 August 1966, by being in combat with terrorists, or being injured through terrorist activities, or completing 60 days counter-insurgency duty in a designated area.
Clasps were added for additional periods of service.
