• Medal was instituted by Law No.12 of 09 June 1992.
• Medal is awarded to members of the Armed Forces who innovate improvements or create scientific or technical inventions useful in the development of weapons, equipment, or supplies, or who conduct studies or research useful in these cases. This medal may be awarded to non-members of the Armed Forces who engage in similar activities in the aforementioned fields.
