Medal was instituted on 16 October 1970.
Medal is awarded to persons who have completed twelve years of voluntary service in the first class of the Reserve Force and performed such service efficiently. A bar may be added for each further period of six years continuous service as aforesaid, and a rose on ribbon shall denote a bar.
