Medal of National Resistance 1941-45

GRC023 Μετάλλιο Εθνικής Αντιστάσεως 1941-45

Medal was instituted on 22 December 1948.
Medal was awarded to participants in the resistance movement against the German, Italian and Bulgarian troops during the Second World War.
There are two types of the medal: from 1948-1982 - with a reverse inscription "ΕΘΝΙΚΗ ΑΝΤΙΣΤΑΣΙΣ", from 1982 - a reverse inscription "ΕΘΝΙΚΗ ΑΝΤΙΣΤΑΣΗ".
Greek resistance - involved armed and unarmed groups from across the political spectrum that resisted the Axis occupation of Greece.
