Order was instituted by Decree-Law No.30 of 10 December 1979.
Order is awarded to Cuban women, whose activities are an example of creative revolutionary labor and internationalism, for their great contribution to the education of young people, ensuring the full participation of women in public life, in the development and defense of the country.
Mariana Grajales Cuello - was a Cuban patriot.
