Order of Military Merit of the Companions of Artigas

URY003 Orden Militar al Mérito Tenientes de Artigas

Order was instituted by Law N° 14.955 on 13 November 1979.
Order was awarded to civilians and military personnel, who provided distinguished service to the Uruguayan Army.
Order was awarded in fife classes: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.
Order was repealed by Law No.15.738 of 14 February 1985.
José Gervasio Artigas - is a national hero of Uruguay.
