• Medal was instituted on 26 August 1969.
• Medal is awarded to the members of the Civil and Protective Services, Defence and Cadet Forces, Statutory Boards and Committees of other quasi Public Services for outstanding and meritorious service (gold class), for long and meritorious service (silver class) and for good conduct and long service (bronze class).
• Medal is awarded in three classes: gold, siver and bronze.
