Medal was instituted on 4 April 2002.
Medal is awarded to servicemen, civil servants and civilian personnel of the Transnistrian contingent of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces and Bodies Leading the Peacekeeping Operation, as well as other structures for active participation in peacekeeping activities, vigilance, initiative and perseverance, diligence and exemplary military discipline.
