Medal of Lithuanian Independence

- Medal instituted in 1928 in honor of the 10th anniversary of the independence of the Lithuanian Republic.
- Medal awarded to military personnel who were on active service, persons who had joined the public service in the early days of independence, volunteers of the struggle for independence, Knights of the Cross of Vytis and public figures.
- Medal was reinstated in 2000 and is conferred on persons for distinction in the cause of restoration and consolidation of the Independent State of Lithuania during the period from 1990 to 2000.
- Medal was discontinued in 2001.
