Medal instituted by ordonnance N° 72/24 of 30 November 1972.
Medal awarded to personnel of the National Gendarmerie, Army, Navy, Air Force and National Security for exceptional bravery, made during war operations and homeland defense.
There are three various clasps on ribbon: golden palm, silver palm and gold star.
