Order was instituted on 25 April 1993.
Order is awarded for extraordinary successes in commanding and leading units of the Armed Forces of the Republika Srpska in armed struggle. The order can exceptionally be awarded in peace for extraordinary merits in the management and organization of the Armed Forces.
Order is awarded in three classes.
Đorđe Petrović - was a Serbian revolutionary.
