King's Medal of Merit

Medal was instituted by King Haakon VII on 1 February 1908.
Medal is awarded for meritorious achievements in the fields of art, science, business, and public service.
On the obverse of the medal is the portrait of the reigning King with his name and motto, so there are three types of the medal.
Medal is awarded in two classes: gold and silver.
