Medal instituted on 1 July 1993 as the state award of the Republic of Lithuania. From 15 December 2003, the medal awarded by the Ministry of Regional Protection and the Ministry of Transport.
Medal awarded to citizens of Lithuania and foreign nationals, for contribution to aviation in Lithuania.
