• Medal instituted on 21 January 1941.
• Medal awarded in two classes: First class - Medal with bar, awarded to persons who rendered active service in either of the periods: from 1 April 1920 to 31 March 1921, or from 1 April 1921 to 11 July 1921. Second class - Medal without bar, awarded to persons whose service is not deemed to be active military service.
