Medal was instituted on 11 January 2001.
Medal was awarded to the military personnel who served in Cyprus, according to events that took place in Tiliria and Nicosia in 1964, in Kofinou - Agios Theodoros in 1967 as well as during the time period from 20/7/1974 - 8/20/1974.
Cyprus conflict - is an ongoing dispute between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.
