Order of Heinrich Lion

GBW000 Orden Heinrichs des Löwen

Order was instituted by Duke William on 25 April 1834.
Originally order consisted of four classes : Grand Cross , Commander of the first and second class and Knight. And Merit Cross first and second class. 9 December 1870, when awarding for Military Merit , added two crossed swords under the lower beam of the cross. 8 March 1877 Knight was divided into two classes. In 1903 was established Badge of honor silver medal.
