CUB025 Medalla Antonio Maceo

Medal was instituted by Decree-Law No.30 of 10 December 1979.
Medal is awarded to soldiers of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, reserve and retired soldiers, units of the Revolutionary Military Council for special successes that have made a significant contribution to increasing the defense capability, development and strengthening of the socialist homeland. On the same grounds, medal can be awarded to military personnel and military units of friendly states.
Antonio Maceo Grajales - was second-in-command of the Cuban Army of Independence.
