Distinction was instituted by Decree-Law No.59 of 16 October 1982.
Distinction is awarded to Cuban people in recognition of their accomplishments over twenty-five years or more in the iron and steel sector, and for maintaining an exemplary and consistent attitude towards revolutionary principles.
Florentino Alejo Fuentes - was a Cuban proletarian internationalist.
