Medal awarded to Brazilian or foreign military personnel and civilians who rendered outstanding services to the Brazilian Air Force.
Initially, medal awarded in two classes: silver and bronze. From 1970, medal awarded in silver class.
Alberto Santos-Dumont - was a Brazilian inventor and aviation pioneer.
