Medal instituted by Decree No. 35.587 of 2 June 1954.
Medal awarded to military personnel of the Brazilian Naval Force of the Northeast, who effectively served during the Second World War.
Medal awarded in three classes: gold (to officers who commanded the Naval Force of the Northeast), silver (to officers of the General Staff and Commanders of the ships) and bronze (for officers, who effectively provided war service as ships crew members).
