Medal instituted by Decree No. 6.795 of 17 August 1944 and regulated by Decree No. 16.821 of 13 October 1944.
Medal awarded to soldier, regardless of rank, who had been active in the Italian theater of operation provided that he never had any disciplinary infractions or offenses.
