BRA086 Cruz de Bravura

Decoration instituted by Decree No. 7.454 of 10 April 1945.
Decoration awarded to Brazilian Air Force personnel who have displayed exceptional acts of bravery in the campaign.
Additional acts of bravery are rewarded by adding bronze palm clasp on the ribbon.
Decoration has been awarded to only five recipients, all of them pilots of the 1st Fighter Aviation Group, who lost their lives in combat in Italy, during World War II: John Richardson Cordeiro e Silva, Frederico Gustavo Dos Santos, João Maurício Campos de Medeiros, Aurélio Vieira Sampaio and Luiz Lopes Dornelles.
