• Medal was instituted on 25 June 2005 and was changed on 21 June 2014.
• Medal is awarded for significant services rendered to the Motherland.
• Medal is awarded in two classes. The first-class medal awarded to servicemen of the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia and other troops, employees of other public administration bodies, as well as to citizens of the Republic of Armenia and Armenian nationals who are not citizens of the Republic of Armenia. The second-class medal awarded to servicemen of the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia and other troops, employees of other public administration bodies and persons for other significant services rendered to the motherland.
