Order is instituted on 8 February 2014.
Order is awarded to officers of the Armed Forces, other troops and military bodies of Turkmenistan and other military personnel, for particularly significant merits in ensuring military security, strengthening the defense capability of the state; for special merits in the exemplary leadership of military units, which ensured the exemplary performance of military duties by military personnel of military units under their subordination, their impeccable performance of military service duties and the achievement of high levels of combat readiness, and for high personal indicators achieved in military service.
Oghuz Khagan - was a legendary khan of the Turkic peoples.
