- Medal is awarded to national and foreign citizens, to State officials, to officials of international organizations and missions, to municipal and regional authorities; that stand out for their contributions to the professional and institutional development of the Nicaraguan Army, to the doctrine of national security and defense, to the tasks of defense and civil protection, missions protection and defense of natural resources and the environment, missions of support to the country's economic and social development plans and other civic action plans, in support of the Nicaraguan Army units.
