Medal is instituted on 7 December 2011.
Medal is awarded to employees of the Ministry of the Interior for special contribution to the effective solution of the tasks facing the Ministry of the Interior, as well as citizens of Georgia, foreign citizens and other persons who made a special contribution to the fight against crime.
Medal is awarded in two classes.
