Medal was instituted on 9 March 1926.
Medal was awarded to members of the French troops for their assistance in the establishment and maintenance of Lebanese sovereignty at the end of the First World War.
The French government, by Decree of 16 June 1927, allowed French military personnel to wear this medal.
