Ordre National du Zaïre

• Order instituted by law No.68-437 of 2 December 1968. The name of the country was changed to the Republic of Zaire in October 1971. The order was amended by law n° 78-025 of 30 August 1978. The central disk of orders insignia was changed.
• Order awarded for high military or civil merits rendered to the Republic.
• Order have five classes.
• Order have two divisions: military (swords suspension) and civilian (five-pointed star suspension).
