- Medal instituted by King Ferdinand VII on 6 February 1815.
- Medal awarded to loyal citizens of the cities of Panama, Portobelo, Alanje, La Villa de los Santos, Santiago and Nata de los Caballeros for their constant fidelity preserved through the upheavals and political movements of the New Granada.
- Medal awarded in two classes: gold and silver.
