Medal was instituted on 15 April 1920.
Medal was awarded to all ranks of the allied forces (The 1st Btn. The Sherwood Forester and the 22nd Btn. Chasseurs Alpin) to commemorate their services during the plebiscite.
1920 Schleswig plebiscites - were two plebiscites, organized to determine the future border between Denmark and Germany.
