Order of Hussain ibn Ali

Order was instituted by King Abdullah I bin Al-Hussein on 22 June 1949.
Order is awarded in two classes: Collar - awarded to Heads of State, and Grand Cordon - awarded to consorts of heads of state, senior Jordanian and foreign princes.
Husain ibn Ali - was a grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and a son of Ali ibn Abi Talib.
