Order of the Republic

• Order instituted in 1953.
• Order awarded to civilians, both Egyptian and foreign, for exceptional merit and for service to the state.
• Order have VI classes.
• Order have VI types: I type (1953-1958) - lily suspension; II type (1958-1972) - Eagle of Saladin with 2 stars suspension; III type (1972-1984) - Hawk suspension; IV type (1984-) - Eagle of Saladin without 2 stars suspension.
