Medal was instituted on 25 April 1993.
Medal is awarded to individuals of the Armed Forces of the Republika Srpska who, by their example, develop enthusiasm for accomplishing the set tasks, or who are distinguished by such military qualities to serve as an example to others. This medal is also awarded to civilians in military units and institutions, military companies and other organizations, who, by their example in their work, develop enthusiasm in accomplishing tasks and jobs of special and immediate importance for the defense of the state.
